OVERVIEW
Convert the 10- and 100-Mbps copper and fiber within
your network. Simply invest in Crossover Media Converters or
their Economy versions.
With these converters, you can flip a switch to convert
cable. The crossover feature is built-in, so the conversion takes
place automatically—and you don’t need to worry about the
expense or hassle of using external crossover cables.
Crossover Media Converters and Economy Crossover Media
Converters enable you to translate between twisted pair and
fiber and twisted pair and ThinNet. Models support
conversion from:
• 100-Mbps twisted pair to multimode fiber with ST ® or
SC connectors. The LH1506A even connects 100-Mbps
twisted pair to multimode fiber with MT-RJ connectors;
• 100-Mbps twisted pair to single-mode fiber with SC
connectors. The LH1508A even enables long-haul links
of up to 40 kilometers (24.8 mi.);
• 10-Mbps twisted pair to single-mode fiber with ST
connectors.
• 10-Mbps ThinNet to twisted pair;
• 10-Mbps ThinNet to multimode fiber with ST connectors
or multimode fiber with ST connectors and link pass-
through;
The converters enable you to take advantage of the latest
Ethernet switch technology and improve your network’s
performance.
These media converters also save you the expense
of installing repeaters on every port, thus reducing overall
network operating costs.
The converters also include an external 110-VAC,
95–125-VAC, 230-VAC, or 200–250-VAC power supply that you
can plug into a 110- or 230-VAC wall socket or power strip.
Both the 10- and 100-Mbps models are small enough to
fit in the palm of your hand, so they take up very little space.
You can mount them easily in the available racks or you can
VELCRO
® mount them.
Note that the Economy Crossover Media Converter does
not support autosensing half- or full-duplex operation,
however the 100-Mbps Crossover Media Converters
(LH1500A-ST-R3, LH1500A-SC-R3, LH1501A-R2) do support this
feature.
All the converters include a metal bracket for
wallmounting.
