DEFENDER FULL LENGTH SIDE PLATES
Thank you for purchasing Poison Spyder
products for your Jeep. Installation is fairly simple
with the right tools and good mechanical abilities.
If you are not confident in your mechanical skills,
please seek the help of a professional to perform
the installation. Please read through these entire
instructions before proceeding with installation.
IMPORTANT: Completely install and remove
these items prior to painting or powder coating.
This will allow you to check for fitment or do any
clearancing or fitting ahead of time, to reduce
the chance of damage to the finish during final
installation. Poison Spyder Customs Inc. is not
responsible for costs for or damage to paint or
powder coat finish under any circumstances,
including paint or powder coat of incorrectly
shipped or defective parts.

arrival to ensure that everything listed is included,
and to check for damage during shipping. If
anything is missing or damaged, call Poison

(1) Nut Insert installation tool
(24) 5/16-18 X 3/4 SS flat head cap screw
(14) 5/16-18 nylon insert lock nut
(10) 5/16-18 nut-sert
TOOLS NEEDED
• 3/16” Hex key
• 1/2” End wrench or socket & ratchet
• Drill motor with 5/16” & 17/32” drill bits
• Optional: Pro nut-sert install tool
• Thread anti-seize compound
NOTE: The Nut-sert installation tool provided is
simple and inexpensive. It works but it can be
tedious to use, especially when installing a large
number of nut-serts. We highly recommend
purchasing, renting, or borrowing a professional
quality nut-sert installation tool, such as the
“Marson Giant Thread Setter 325-RN 34604”,
available from www.blindrivetsupply.com.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: These instructions assume the Poison
Spyder DeFenders™ have already been
installed. If Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers™,
Ricochet Rockers™ or or other manufacturer’s
rocker armor is to be used, make sure it is
already installed as well..
1. Place Full Length Side Plate against the
side of the previously-installed DeFender™,
and loosely install seven (7) of the supplied
SS flat head cap screws, with nyloc nuts,
in the triangular forward section of the Side
Plate that overlaps the DeFender™. Leave
these fasteners barely snugged, so that the
position of the Side Plate may still be slightly
adjusted.
