Cam side chain adjusters should
be closed by turning the cam

clockwise with the included cam
tightening tool. If there are more than 2
“loose” links at any of the fasteners,
we recommend that you secure them
to the side chain with a piece of wire or
a plastic tie.

Next fasten the outside fastener,
again making sure it is as tight as

possible. Drive a short distance and
retighten all fasteners. For best results,
make sure fasteners are adjusted equally
and as tight as possible.

Reach behind the tire and fasten
the inside connector making sure

it is as tight as possible.

Drive forward a few feet, far
enough so that one or two of the

cross chains pass under the tire.

Again make sure the cross chain
hooks are facing upward. Hooks

that face down (towards the tire) will
cause damage to the tire. “CAM” side
adjusters should be on the outside of the tire.

Park vehicle on firm level ground
and turn off the engine. Set the

parking brake. Lay the chains out flat
on the ground, making sure there are
no twists or tangles. Make sure the
cross chain hooks are facing upward,
then drape chain over the tire, so that
one cross chain is positioned at the
point where the tire meets the ground.

Installation

Removal

Drive vehicle off highway to safe level ground. Turn the CAMs in the opposite direction to loosen the chain. Unhook the chain
tightener (if one was used) and the outside fastener. Unhook the inside and center fastener. Lay the chains on the ground and
drive vehicle off chains. Inspect chains for damaged or worn parts. After use, clean and spray with an all-purpose lubricant.

CAUTION:

All winter traction products will wear out with extended use. They can also break due to

misfit, misapplication or misuse. If this should occur, stop immediately and remove the chain. If these

cautions are ignored, SCC, and it’s distributors are not responsible for injury or vehicle damage.
