Thank you for purchasing M.O.R.E. BombProof™ Motor Mounts. They are designed to fit Jeep CJ-
5, CJ-7, CJ-8 vehicles from 1972 through 1986 factory equipped with AMC 232 or 258 six cylinder
engines (

will also fit CJ„s converting to the 4.0L engine

). They are a direct bolt in*. No modification is required to

the engine or frame of your Jeep . The design is such that you will notice a bit more vibration then
the stock rubber motor mounts, mostly at idle. However, the fact that the engine will be “clamped” in
place far better then the stock mounts is worth the slight increase in vibration. They replace the fac-
tory frame mount and rubber insulator. The factory block plates remain in place (the steel piece that
is bolted to the engine). The engine side of the JM100 mount, bolts to the factory block plates. They
have slots punched in them for adjustably. This plate can also be "flipped" over for even more ad-
justably.

*If your Jeep is a 1972-1975 it will require slight drilling to the JM1OO frame brackets.

STEP 1: With the Jeep on flat level ground, apply the parking brake, block the tires so it cannot
move. Put the transmission in neutral. Using a floor jack, place a block of wood between the jack and
engine oil pan. Apply a slight amount of pressure on the oil pan.

STEP 2: Remove the drivers side stock frame bracket and rubber insulator. Leave the block plate
attached to the engine. Save the hardware that you remove because it will be re-used. Install the
BombProof motor mount in it's place. (Hint: It may be easier to install the frame portion of the
BombProof mount separate from the block plate, then install the thru-bolt.) Do not tighten any of
the nuts or bolts at this time. If your vehicle has a aftermarket suspension lift kit that uses spacers
between the skid plate and frame to lower the transfer case, this can cause the motor mounts to be
slightly out of alignment. If you have trouble lining up the thru-bolt, it maybe necessary to temporarily
un-bolt the transmission mount from the skid plate and raise up the transmission slightly until the thru
-bolt lines up.

STEP 3: Remove the stock motor mount from the passenger side of the engine. Install the Bomb-
Proof motor mount in it's place. Re-use the stock hardware. Do not tighten the nuts or bolts yet. If
you had un-bolted the transmission mount from the skid plate in step 2, you can now lower it back
into place and tighten the bolts that you removed.

STEP 4: Tighten the frame bolts to 30 lb. ft. torque. Tighten the block plate bolts to 30 lbs. ft. torque.
Tighten the thru-bolts on the BombProof motor mounts to 50 lb. ft. torque. Remove the floor jack.
Check all of the hardware for proper torque specs after 50 miles and every off-road use.
