INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

for

JM600L & JM603L BombProof™ MOTOR MOUNTS

Please read and understand all instructions before beginning the installation of these motor mounts. Please read
the terms and policies on the back of these instructions.

The JM600L & JM603L motor mounts are a one inch lifted version of our standard motor mounts. They are de-
signed to fit the following Jeep® vehicles: 1987-1995 YJ Wranglers equipped with 6-cylinder engines (4.0L or
4.2L), 1997-2003 Jeep® TJ Wranglers equipped with 4.0L and 2.5L engines. ALL Jeep® VEHICLES USING
THESE MOUNTS MUST HAVE A ONE INCH BODY LIFT INSTALLED!!! . A increase in engine vibrations will be
noticed with the 2.5L engines!

STEP 1:

With the Jeep® on flat level ground, apply the parking brake, block the tires so it cannot move.

Put the transmission in neutral. Using a jack, place a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan. Apply a
slight amount of pressure on the oil pan. Remove the bolts holding the fan shroud to the radiator. (The shroud
should have been “lowered” one inch with the body lift kit. You will re-attach it to the “stock” location after the in-
stallation of the lifted motor mounts.

STEP 2:

Remove the drivers side stock motor mount. ( If your bolt comes in from the front then remove

the Block Bracket and Motor Mount Together , Reverse the bolt on reassembly) Save the hardware that you re-
moved because it will be re-used. Install the BombProof™ motor mount in it’s place. On some YJ & TJ Wran-
gler vehicles, we have found that when lifting the engine, the engine mounting fork can contact the frame of the
Jeep®. If this is the case on your vehicle, modifications to the frame and or fork may have to occur. Use common
sense when performing this modification. Do not tighten any of the nuts or bolts at this time. If your vehicle has a
aftermarket suspension lift kit that uses spacers between the skid plate and frame to lower the transfer case, this
can cause the motor mounts to be slightly out of alignment. If you have trouble lining-up the thru-bolt, it may be
necessary to temporarily un-bolt the transmission mount from the skid plate and raise the transmission up slightly
until the thru-bolt lines up.

STEP 3:

Remove the stock motor mount from the passenger side of the engine. Install the BombProof™

motor mount in it’s place . On some YJ & TJ Wrangler vehicles, we have found that when lifting the engine, the
engine mounting fork can contact the frame of the Jeep®. If this is the case on your vehicle, modifications to the
frame and or fork may have to occur. Use common sense when performing this modification. Re-use the stock
hardware. Do not tighten the nuts or bolts yet. If you had un-bolted the transmission mount from the skid plate in
step 2, you can now lower it back into place and tighten the bolts that you removed.
