PPM-8006 JK STEERING STABILIZER RELOCATION
BRACKET

Version 1

GENERAL NOTES:

• The installation of this bracket requires a minimum of 2” tall front bump stop

spacers to prevent the steering stabilizer from hitting the bottom of the frame at
full bump.

• This bracket can be used in conjunction with the stock track bar and most

aftermarket track bars.

1. Remove the steering stabilizer from the track bar bracket and the tie rod bracket.
2. Loosen the two u-bolts on the tie rod steering stabilizer bracket and rotate the tie rod

bracket 90 degrees so the mounting stud is pointing up. *Note* this is only
applicable on 2007-2010 Jeeps. 2011+ Jeeps will require the use of the PPM-8003 tie
rod clamp.

3. Remove the track bar mounting bolt from the axle bracket and push the track bar up

and out of the way.

4. Position the new steering stabilizer relocation bracket over the front of the track bar

bracket; use the track bar bolt to align it as shown in the following picture.

5. Insert the two supplied 3/8 bolts from the back of the track bar bracket through the

steering stabilizer bracket. Use a washer under the head of bolts, depending on the
clearance of the track bar, you may not be able to use a washer under the bolt closer
to the center of the axle.

6. Secure the two 3/8 bolts with a washer and lock nut, tighten and torque to 40 ft-lbs.

Make sure the track bar bolt is installed to align the steering stabilizer bracket
properly.

7. Re-install the track bar using the factory bolt and tab nut. It helps to have someone

turn the steering wheel to align the track bar bushing to the hole. Tighten the track
bar bolt to 120 ft-lbs.

8. Install the steering stabilizer so the shaft end is attached to the relocation bracket and

the body end is attached to the tie rod. Reuse the factory bolt and nut on the
relocation bracket but use the supplied ½” washer between the steering stabilizer
bushing and the relocation bracket. Tighten the factory steering stabilizer hardware
to 60 ft-lbs.
