JEEP T15 3 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS 1972-75
TO CHEVY & BUICK ENGINES
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
These transmissions were normally used with the Jeep 304 V8 engines. They were found in vehicles 1972-75 and have
the same bolt pattern as the T14 and T86 transmissions.
1. Install pilot bushing into the engine crank shaft.
2. Remove the bearing retainer from the front of the 3 speed transmission and cut the snout off as illustrated to an
overall length of 1-3/4". Make sure the seal is not damaged and then reinstall the retainer back onto the front of
the transmission. Make sure the gasket has not been damaged.
3. The following Chevy parts will be necessary:
Clutch Release Bearing (AA Part No. N1430)
Clutch Release Lever (AA Part No. 716176)
Pressure Plate 11" (AA Part No. CF165552)
Clutch Disc with 1-1/8"-10 (AA Part No. 383735)
Flywheel
Bellhousing with small index diameter of 4.686"
4. Bolt the new bearing retainer to the front of the adapter housing using the 4 bolts supplied.
5. Bolt the adapter plate to the new bellhousing.
6. Bolt the transmission to the adapter plate using the original bolts.
