JEEP INSTRUCTION MANUAL

JEEP T176 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION

TO JEEP DANA 18/20 T/C. (10-SPLINES)

NOTES:

1.

Adapter plate part #711199, must be bolted to transfer case with bearing
retainer & bearing in position. Gear will need to be installed from rear
side of transfer case. On Dana 20, this will require rear driveshaft removal.
On Dana 18, simply remove inspection cover on back side of transfer case.

2.

Drill your T176 transmission holes out so it lines up with jeep transfer case
hole. This will require approximately 3/16" with a rattail file. Use 3/8"-
16 x 2" H.H.C.S. with lock washer and nut for assembly.

3.

These two locations are for two S.H.C.S. from transfer case side to T176
case. The transfer case may need to be ground away for head clearance.

4.

Rear transfer case support must be moved forward to locate under T176
transmission. The case has 6-holes for mounting and rubber support.
