manual pertaining to your vehicle be obtained for specific torque values, wiring diagrams and other related equipment. These manuals are normally available at automotive dealerships

ENGINE MOUNTS - I.F.S.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:
These mounts must be used on Toyota trucks that were equipped with I.F.S. (Independent Front Suspension). The
mounts are designed for use with the late model stock Toyota truck 5-speed, GM-TH350 and the GM 700R-4
transmissions. The engine location has been established so that the transfer case can remain in the original location
with the GM-TH350 and the original Toyota truck 5-speed transmissions. When using the GM 700R-4 transmission,
you will need to move the transfer case back approximately 1.50”. However, if you use the “short” style water pump
you can fit the 700R-4 transmission in and leave the transfer-case in it’s original location, provided you eliminate the
mechanical driven cooling fan and use electric cooling fans on the front of the radiator.
The engine mounts have been manufactured with three different mounting positions. You will see that there are six
slots that will line up over the original Toyota 4-cylinder frame perches. Two sets of these slots are for the original
5-speed, TH350, and 700R-4 conversions. The other set of slots is for the GM 4.3-liter V6 engine location. Please
observe how the mounts are reversed when using the GM 4.3 liter V6 in the drawing on next page.
The overall assembled length, including adapter, for the GM-TH350 and the original Toyota truck 5-speed ("G" or
"W" series transmission) is 24.875”. The overall length of the GM-700R4, including adapter, is 26.75”. The two pair
of slots are spaced approximately 1.50” apart, so they are universal for both installations. Consult the drawing for
the proper assembly of mounting hardware. For added protection we recommend welding the Advance Adapter
mount to the Toyota truck perches after determining the final engine position. The Advance Adapters engine mounts
must be used with GM engine rubber pad GM # 3990914, Napa #6021106 or our P/N 4980.
NOTES:
1. If you are not installing a suspension lift, then the Advance Adapters modified oil pan must be used. Some grinding
relief might be necessary on the front differential when a suspension lift is not used.
2. A minimum of two inches of body lift is highly recommended, and on some applications will be necessary.
3. Vehicles with no suspension lift will have to switch the front drive shaft to a non-C.V. yoke when using the 700R
and possibly with TH350 transmissions.
4. A rear yoke from a 1984-1995 gear driven transfer case can be used and drive line modifications will be
necessary.
NOTES:
This mount kit does not include
the stock GM rubber mounts.
