FEATURES & CONTROLS

20 FEED ROLLER LIFT JACK (BOTTLE JACK)

Used to lift the feed roller. The feed roller can be raised to

inspect and service the machine and to clear a plugged

disk. Secure the feed roller in the raised position using

the snap pin.

4 CHIPPER ENGAGEMENT HANDLE

During engine start-up, the engagement handle must be

in the UP position (disengaged). With the engine slightly

above idle, engage the chipper blades by slowly pushing

the chipper engagement handle down. To disengage the

chipper, move the handle back UP to the original position.

10 FEED ROLLER CONTROL BAR

To control the feed roller, adjust the control arm to one of

its four positions. The cycle of the control arm is Reverse,

Stop, Forward, Reverse (see Sec. 4.7).

23 REAR STABILIZER

Prevents the chipper from tipping when disconnected from

the towing vehicle. Always have in UP position and clear

from ground when moving the chipper. When the chipper

is operating, place the stabilizer in a DOWN position on a

level surface.

18 DISCHARGE CAP

Directs the discharge of chipped material vertically. Adjust

the discharge cap by turning the cap adjuster handle.

17 DISCHARGE CHUTE

Directs the discharge of the chipped material horizontally.

The discharge tube can be rotated 360º by grasping two

of the four chute handles, pushing the handles down, and

turning the chute manually. Secure the chute with the lock

pin.

7 CHUTE EXTENSION TRAY

The feed chute has an extension tray that folds down.

1 CONTROL PANEL

The fuel gauge, throttle, choke and ignition are located on

the control panel (see Sec 3.1).

9 FEED CHUTE

Materials to be chipped are fed into the feed chute. They

are then pulled through the feed roller to the blades.

12 HITCH JACK

Used to adjust the height of the hitch. Always have in UP

position and clear from the ground when moving. When in

use, place in DOWN position on a level surface.

5 FEED ROLLER SPEED CONTROL

Controls the speed of the feed roller. Turn the knob

clockwise to decrease the speed of the feed roller. Turn

the knob counterclockwise to increase the speed of the

feed roller.

6 MANUAL BOX

Stores owner's manual and safety goggles for easy

access.

16 DISCHARGE CAP ADJUSTER

Rotate the handle to adjust the discharge cap vertically.

22 FUEL TANK COVER

Open to fill up the fuel tank.

19 CHUTE TURN HANDLES

To rotate the discharge chute, grasp any two handles,

push them down, and turn the discharge chute.

13 COUPLER

8 SAFETY BAR (CE COMPLIANT MODELS)

Activate the safety bar in case of an emergency by

pushing it horizontally. When the safety bar is activated,

the feed roller is stopped. The chipper will not resume

feeding materials until the reset button on the top of the

feed chute is pressed (see Sec. 4.7).

11 RESET/OVERRIDE BUTTON

(CE COMPLIANT MODELS)

When the safety bar has been activated, the red light will

go on and the feed roller will stop. Push the reset/override

button to resume forward feed.

21 FEED ROLLER SNAP PIN

Use the snap pin to secure the feed roller lift jack.

3 CONTROLLER LIGHT

When the light is flashing green, increase RPM. The feed

roller can be shifted into Forward when the controller light

is steady green. See Section 6 for more information.

2 PLUS 1 CONTROLLER

The Plus 1 Controller detects when the chipper blades

are rotating fast enough to begin chipping and allows the

feed roller to engage.

14 SAFETY CHAINS

(NON-CE COMPLIANT MODELS ONLY)

Safety chains are used during towing to prevent the

chipper from completely separating from the tow vehicle

in the event the chipper detaches from the tow vehicle.

Cross the safety chains under the hitch and connect to

the tow vehicle.
