Start Up

Press the ON/OFF button (display will come on).

Set Inch/Metric Mode

Press the IN/MM button briefly to switch the readout

from inch to metric measurement mode.

Measure Drum Diameter

1.

Slide the gauge closed until it touches stop.

2.

Press D drum button and display reads 5.000".

3.

Measurement—Slide arms outward to rest on the
edge of the drum. This will allow a level measure-
ment to be achieved. Take the drum diameter mea-
surement.

Measure Drum Roundness

1.

Hold gauge in position to measure diameter of
drum.

2.

Press R roundness button, gauge will display zero.

3.

Reposition gauge 90 degrees around the diameter
of the drum.

4.

The display will show plus + or minus - differences
from zero. This number is the out-of-round condi-
tion of the drum.

5.

You can take as many measurements around the
drum as you like.

6.

Press R roundness button a second time to exit
roundness/zero mode.

Battery Replacement

Note: When changing the battery you reset the 5.000"

preset.

1.

Press the ON/OFF button to shut display off.

2.

Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding
to the right.

3.

Remove the battery and wait ten minutes.

4.

Install a new battery.

5.

Reinstall the battery compartment cover.

6.

Press the ON/OFF button (display will come on).

7.

Make sure the micrometer is reading IN. If not
press the MM/IN button to get it into the INCH
mode. Press and hold the D button (this is for pre-
setting data) until SET shows on the display. When
it blinks, the data to be preset can now be input.
While holding the D button, press the plus + preset
or minus - preset. Release the D button once the
readings start to appear. Hold the + or the - button
to get the display to 5.000".

8.

Press the D button to exit the SET mode.

Display Reset

If the display becomes non-responsive at any time,

remove the battery for ten minutes and follow direc-
tions 5 through 7 as shown above. This will reset the
5.000" preset.
