Step 1: Door Preparation and Transom Assembly
1. Remove door from wood crate utilizing the nylon lifting
straps provided and place face-up (as positioned in crate)
on platform fl oor.
2. Remove ¼” x 3” aluminum clamping bar and screws from
the top of frame and store in wood crate.
3. Remove ¼” x 3” aluminum clamping bars from both sides
of door frame and store in wood crate. Re-install screws
on both sides of frame so they protrude approximately ½”.
This will allow clearance for installing the side connectors
in the following steps.
4. Position transom above the top of the door frame so
that the fi rst screw that is 6 5/8 ” from the bottom of the
transom is toward the top of the door. (Note: If the
keyholes in the side connectors don’t engage both the door and the transom then the transom is installed
upside down.) Loosen all the screws on the sides of the transom so they protrude approximately ½” (like the door).
5. Once the transom is positioned correctly, install the side connectors with the keyholes toward the door/transom frame
and the narrow slot of the keyhole aiming toward the bottom of the door. Once the side connector engages all the
protruding screws and contacts the door/transom frame, slide the side connector toward the top of the frame until it
bottoms out against the screws. Make sure the bottom of the transom butts tightly to the top of the door frame before
tightening the screws. Tighten the screws on either side of the door frame/transom joint to hold the transom to the top of
the door, tighten the remaining screws (ten screws on each side). Repeat this procedure on the opposite side.
6. The door is now ready for positioning in the installation kit.
