thumb break accordingly

. The male side of the snap should always be on the inside, or closest to

your body (see Retention Strap and Thumb Break adjustment section at the end of these instructions).

The Speed Clips will also attach on this side for mounting directly to a STRIKE/MOLLE platform. Using

the thumb break adjuster included with your holster

, insert the Speed Clips into the appropriate slots.

The longer Speed Clip goes into the slot just below the thumb break, and the shorter one goes into the

first row of 1” webbing closest to the back edge.

The holster is now ready to be mounted to any

STRIKE/MOLLE carrier or platform by weaving the

Speed Clip through the webbing on the carrier and

holster

, and snap at the bottom to secure in place.

On the back edge of the holster (side opposite of the

spare magazine pouch), you will find two (2) adjustable

web straps that wrap around the rear edge of the hol-

ster

. These adjustable straps are sewn down on one

side, and use “hook-and-loop” to attach to the other

.

Detaching the “hook-and-loop” side of these straps

allows the two sides of the holster to be pushed apart 1

to 2 inches. Holster your weapon with the light mount-

ed. Now

, re-attach the two straps, but do not tighten

them down too much as you want to leave enough

room to smoothly remove and replace the firearm.

Inside of the holster there is an adjustable/removable

weapon locating strap that is attached with “hook-

and-loop”. This strap determines how deep your

firearm will seat in the holster

, and can be adjusted up

or down, based on your preference or the firearm you

are using. It can also be placed below the light (if you

are using one), or the muzzle of your firearm. Bear in

mind that you do not want the firearm to seat much

lower than your rear sight set just below the lip of the

holster

. Y

ou do not want to raise the firearm out too

much either

, possibly exposing the trigger area. Ideally

you would have the rear sight at or just below the lip of

the holster

. This should leave enough of the rear of the

slide exposed to properly adjust the retention strap and

thumb break.

Once you have made all of the necessary fit adjustments for the hol-

ster and are happy with the weapon placement, the last thing left to do

is adjust the retention strap and thumb break. BLACKHA

WK! ships a

polymer

, double-ended thumb break adjustment tool with each holster

to help make this process easier

.

Insert both ends of the double ended adjustment/removal thumb break

tool into the tunnel on the face of the holster so that one end sepa-

rates the inner hook-and-loop surface and one end separates the

outer hook-and-loop surface; allowing the strap to be removed from

the holster body

.

Do the same thing with the thumb break so that it too can be removed from the holster

.

Push the gun into the already adjusted holster body

. Do this several times for a proper fit.

With the gun in the holster

, place the retention strap

against the side of the slide nearest your body

. The center

of the snap should be 1/4” to 1/2” from the end of the slide.

In the case of those firearms employing a slide-mounted

manual safety and/or decocking lever

, make sure that nei-

ther the snap nor the strap interfere with its operation.

Holding the snap in place, pull the retention strap tightly over

the hammer and fit its “hook-and-loop” end into the tunnel on

the front face of the holster that contains its mating “hook-

and-loop” surfaces.

In some cases, sliding one end (only) of the double-ended

removal tool in between the strap and the inner “hook-and-

loop” surface can make insertion easier

. If this technique

is used, just remember to remove the tool after locating and

before pressing down on the tunnel to further mate the

“hook-and-loop” surfaces.

Snap the thumb break on to the retention strap. Fit the other

end into the tunnel on the back of the holster that contains its

mating “hook-and-loop” surface while keeping the retention

strap fitted tightly against the firearm.

Open the thumb break/retention strap assembly in the usual

fashion and remove and replace the firearm; checking for suf-

ficient access to the thumb break as well as for crisp opera-

tion in the releasing and refastening of the snap.

After any adjustments are made, replace and then remove the

firearm; again checking for sufficient access to the thumb break as well as for crisp operation in

releasing and refastening of the snap. When satisfied, press down on both tunnels to further mate

the “hook-and-loop” surfaces.
