TFLX Label Placement Instructions

The TFLX-20 is shipped with 3 different labels for discharge size: A CAFS description label, a set of
orifice diameters in inches, and a set of orifice sizes in mm. It is also shipped with a selection of color
coded reflective labels for hose line identification. This selection allows the user to choose the
labeling that works best for the department using the nozzle.

Discharge Label Procedure

1. The nozzle tip has 3 settings with detents. Grasp the nozzle by the knurled base and rotate the

tip to set the nozzle to its middle detent position.

2. Clean the indicated surface with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry.
3. Remove backing from the desired discharge size label (CAFS type/Inches Diam/Metric Diam).

Hold the label by its edges as much as possible.

4. Orient the label so that it appears right side up to an operator holding the nozzle by its base and

pointing it upward.

5. Align the middle setting on the label (“Wet CAF” or “1 1/8” or “29 mm”) with the triangular

indicator mark on the knurls of the base.

6. Starting with the side away from the Elkhart Brass logo, wrap the label around the indicated

surface, pressing gently to adhere the label to the surface as well as to smooth out any air
bubbles. When finished, the label should overlap itself approximately ¼ inch.

Reflective (Colored) Tape Procedure

1. Clean the indicated surface with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry.
2. Remove the backing from the desired color reflective label.
3. Wrap the label around the indicated surface, pressing gently to adhere the label to the surface

as well as smooth out any air bubbles. Be careful to keep the label straight as you wrap it
beneath the overhang of the front indicator lugs. It is helpful to start with the middle of the label
underneath a lug and then wrap the two ends under the other lugs.
