• Switch Setting allows you to configure the Quick-Record switch on the side of the unit. The (Lock

and standby) option will tell the DVR to immediately lock all keys and move into a standby mode
where it uses less power when the switch is set to ‘Q’. (Lock, standby, and record Video) will tell
the DVR to lock all keys and begin recording audio and video when the switch is set to ‘Q’.
(Lock, standby, and record audio) will tell the DVR to lock all keys and begin recording audio only
when the switch is set to ‘Q’.

• Mic allows you to select which microphone to use : the internal microphone built into the Mini

DVR, or an external microphone built into the sunglasses or button cameras.

• Date Stamp tells the Mini DVR whether or not to record the time and date on recorded video.
• FPS allows you to select how many images per second the video uses; 10, 20, or 30 images per

second. A higher frame rate will provide smoother, more fluid motion but will also consume
memory significantly faster.

• Remote Control tells the Mini DVR how to react to the remote unit. Off will ignore all button

presses from the remote, Boot and Record Video tells it to turn on and begin recording video
when the ‘B’ button is held in for 3 seconds, and Boot and Record audio tells it to turn on and
being recording audio when the ‘B’ button is held in for 3 seconds. The ‘A’ button will still turn
the unit off when held for 3 seconds, and while in either recording mode the screen is dimmed
to conserve power.

• Standby setting tells the recorder to go into a standby mode after a certain length of time. While

in standby mode, the camera consumes less power and the battery life is extended but the
screen is not illuminated.

• Overwrite enable will tell the camera whether or not to erase the oldest recording when the

memory is full. If turned off, the camera will stop recording entirely when memory is filled.

Troubleshooting

1) No Image / Image too Dim – This is usually caused by the system being in a ‘standby’ mode. To

see the image from the camera, first ensure that the switch on the side of the recorder is set to
‘N’. Wait ten seconds, then press and hold the power button at the top of the Mini DVR for 2
seconds to power on the system. You should now see an image. If the screen goes dark while
the unit is powered on, press a key to exit standby mode, or recharge the battery.

2) Battery life is too low – This can occur if you have set your screen brightness too high, the

volume on playback too high, or if the unit is operated for extended periods of time while the
LCD screen is on. To extend the battery life, use the quick-record features of the camera (Switch
to ‘Q’ or use the remote control to start/stop recording)

3) Explanation of unit vibrations – To prevent the unit from being detected, instead of any audio

alerts the unit uses Vibrations to indicate status. When the Mini-DVR is turned on a long 2s
vibration will occur. When the Mini-DVR is turned off, three short vibrations will occur. If the
unit is in Video Record mode but does not have a camera plugged in, it will vibrate continuously
in 1s intervals until a camera is connected or the DVR is turned off.
