8. Weld both vertical overlaps starting at the angle change and progressing to the top of the pocket.

9. Make tack-welds on all four sides of the pocket to hold it in place.

10. Weld the entire horizontal flange to the deck membrane.

11. Using a seam probe, check all splices for voids and cold-welds. Make any needed repairs.

12. Apply a thin coat of Flex TPO Primer to the inside and around the top rim of the pocket, to the

deck membrane enclosed by the pocket and to the penetration using a small paint brush.


13. Fill the pocket with sealant. Use an adequate amount of sealant to ensure that contact is made

with the top rim of the pocket.


CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

· Temperature of penetration shall not exceed 160°F (71°C).

· The inside of the sealant pocket and all penetrations must be cleaned with Flex Weathered

Membrane Cleaner then coated with Flex TPO Primer prior to filling with sealant.

· Flex TPO Molded Sealant Pocket must completely fill the sealant pocket.

· The walls of the sealant pocket must be a minimum of one-inch from any penetration.

· UV filtering sunglasses are strongly recommended when working on Flex White Reflective

Roofing Systems.

· Store Flex TPO Molded Sealant Pockets in a cool, shaded area and cover with light colored,

breathable, waterproof tarpaulins. Flex TPO Molded Sealant Pockets or membrane that have been
exposed to the weather for approximately 7 days or longer must be prepared with Flex Weathered
Membrane Cleaner prior to hot air welding. (Scotch- Brite pads must be used if the membrane has
been exposed for an extended period of time).
