GMP POLE TRAILER LIGHT KIT

Strap Type

Important Safety Precautions - Read This Before Using the Pole Trailer Light

● Do not use this unit to bind poles or to secure a load. The ratcheting strap tie-down is only
designed to secure the Pole Trailer Light Kit to a single pole. To secure the load, use a sepa-
rate pole binder that is designed for that purpose
● If multiple poles are to be transported, attach the Pole Trailer Light unit only to one pole at
the most rearward position.
● Always use a lag bolt to firmly secure the light to the wooden poles (see step 5 below).
● Be careful not to pinch your hands or fingers when securing the ratcheting strap onto the
pole.
● Keep the excess cordage wrapped neatly around the storage bars and secure for transport.

Operating Instructions

1. With the pole trailer light on the ground, feed the end of
the strap through the slot in the center of the rotating spool,
pulling it through until most of the slack is taken up. Form a
loop with the strap a little larger than the pole it’s to be
placed on and start ratcheting the handle until you have
about 1 1/2 wraps on the ratchet spool.

See figure 1

2. Hang the unit facing rearward from the strap on the pro-
truding pole to be transported . Slide the unit along the pole
until the length of the frame contacts the pole. The pole butt
should have at least 15 in. (38 cm) of clearance away from
another object.

See figure 2

3. Continue to ratchet until light bar is tight on the pole.

See figure 3

4. Secure any excess length of strap around the pole.

5. On wooden poles, place a 1/2 in. diameter lag bolt through
the hole that’s located directly behind the ratchet for extra
security. On non-wooden poles, secure link (attached to
mounting bracket) to one of the poles accessory or access holes.

6. Unwrap a sufficient length of cord and plug it securely into the outlet on the vehicle or trailer.
Take up any slack cord by re-wrapping it back onto the cable storage arms and secure.

7. Place the flags into the holders at each end and secure them with the attached locking pins.

8. Verify that all lights are working properly.

9. Check strap after driving a few miles and retighten if needed.
