Handsfree car kit
Remove the rubber plug covering the antenna
hole on the back on the phone.
When your phone is placed in the cradle, it
will switch on automatically with the car
ignition and so will the display and keypad
backlighting. The backlight will remain on
continuously as long as the phone is switched
on.
The battery will be automatically recharged
when necessary.
Menu options
To set up your options concerning the car kit,
you must press »MENU« and select
»Phone setup«. If you then select »Car kit« you
get two new options:
»Car kit auto answer«
»Car kit power off«
Car kit auto answer
When activating this function, your phone will
automatically answer a call after 5 seconds.
This option is only effective when the car
ignition is on.
Car kit power off
You can select whether you want the telephone
to switch off automatically with the car ignition
after a delay of 1 hour or whether you want to
switch it off manually.
If you have selected the automatic mode and
want to switch your telephone off while the
ignition is on, you can still do so manually.
Handsfree calling
Making and receiving handsfree calls work in
exactly the same way as ordinary phoning. The
only difference is that the conversation takes
place via the external speaker and microphone.
If you have activated any key answer in the
Setup menu (page 26) you can answer the call
by pressing any key (except for the left function
key and the arrow keys).

Dual slot desktop charger
In the dual slot desktop charger you can place
both your phone and a spare battery to be
charged. The desktop charger is powered by
means of the charger supplied with your
phone.
The battery on your phone will be charged as
the first. When you place the phone in the
charger you have to make sure that the battery
symbols on the display of your phone start
flashing. During charging these symbols will
flash on and off one after another. When the
battery is fully charged after approximately 2
hours, all 4 symbols are permanently displayed
if your phone is switched on. If your phone is
switched off, the symbols will disappear when
the charging has been completed.
When a spare battery is placed in the
charger the LED indicator on the front will
show a red light, and then, when the spare
battery is fully charged, a green light . If the
indicator is blinking red, the battery is defect.
The indicator will be off when there is no spare
battery attached.
A High Power 1800 mAh NiMH battery
cannot be charged in the dual slot desktop
charger.
Belt clip
The belt clip can be removed or fitted by
means of a screwdriver. The necessary screws
and labels for mounting the belt clip will be
delivered together with the belt clip.
How to fit the belt clip:
Remove the label (A) on the back of the phone.
The belt clip can now be fitted by means of a
screwdriver. Place the label (B) on the belt clip
to cover the screw.
How to remove the belt clip:
Remove the label (B) on the belt clip. The belt
clip can now be removed by means of a screw-
driver. Place the label (A) on the back of the
phone to cover the screw hole.
