Küryakyn WILL NOT issue a warranty on any electrical component that fails due to
pinched, crimped, broken, abraded, melted or frayed wires.

It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners (including
pre-assembled) are tightened before operation of the motorcycle. Küryakyn will
not provide warranty coverage on products or components lost due to improper

installation or lack of maintenance. Periodic inspection and maintenance are

required on all fasteners.

PROCEDURE FOR ‘95–‘97 MODELS

STEP 3

Remove the stock 5/16”–18 x 5” bolt and nut securing the front of the fuel tank.

STEP 4

Hold the right side cover in place on the neck and frame. Make sure the wiring harness and the

throttle control cables run safely between the cover and the frame without being compromised.

Insert the supplied 5/16”–18 x 5-1/2” Stud through the cover, tank tab and the mounting hole.

Hold the Left side cover in place being sure that an equal length of the stud is protruding through

the covers on both sides of the bike. Loosely secure both side covers using the supplied 5/16”

Flat Washers and 5/16”–18 Low Crown Acorn Nuts.

STEP 5

On the right and left frame down tubes below the lower clamp portion of the neck cover, snap the

down tube covers in place. Be sure the clamp portion of the neck cover will slightly over lap the

down

tube

cover.

STEP 6

On the top of the right side cover you will find a fastener hole. Loosely secure the cover halves to

each other through this hole using the supplied #10–24 x 5/8” Socket Head Cap Screw with the

#10

Split

Lock

Washer.

STEP 7

On the lower legs of both the left and right side, loosely install the clamps using the supplied

#8–32 x 1/2” Socket Head cap Screws with the #8 Split Lock Washers. Make sure the clamps are

in the correct orientation so they match the tapered edge of the lower legs.

STEP 8

Turn the handlebars as far as they will go in each direction to check for contact between the fork

and the neck covers. If contact is detected on either side, slip a rubber fork stop bumper over the

stock fork stop “donut” (located on the fork tube) on the affected side and secure it with one of

the included nylon zip ties. Adding this extra cushion on the left side is usually not necessary and

may interfere with fork lock operation.

STEP 9

Starting with 5/16”–18 Low Crown Acorn Nut on each end of the stud, tighten all seven fasteners

securely.

STEP 10

Turn handlebars in both directions to their full stop position to make sure that the clutch cable,

throttle cables, wiring or any other component of the motorcycle, is not stretched or pinched.

ENSURE THAT THE CLUTCH CABLE, THROTTLE CABLES, WIRING OR ANY
OTHER COMPONENT OF THE MOTORCYCLE IS NOT PINCHED OR

STRETCHED AT ANY POINT WHEN THE HANDLEBARS ARE TURNED TO

THEIR FULL STOP POSITION ON EITHER SIDE. STRETCHED OR PINCHED

COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL THAT COULD RESULT IN

SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
