INSTALLATION. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM THIS
INSTALLATION IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN YOUR
ABILITY TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE STEPS IN THE
PROCEDURE; CONSULT A TRAINED TECHNICIAN. IMPROPER
INSTALLATION COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.
Proper tuning is important. We recommend carbureted bikes should
be rejetted and fuel injected bikes should be tuned with a
TTS MasterTune tuning system (calibrations available at
www.kuryakyn.com), or by an experienced tuner, on a dyno, with an
exhaust gas analyzer. 2007 and later Harley Twin Cams run
especially lean combined with retarded ignition timing. Lean
conditions and/or retarded ignition timing will cause high exhaust
temperatures and discolor chrome exhaust.
STEP 2
Be sure that the air lock ring is in place between the backing plate and the engine
intake flange/support bracket (a support bracket may be necessary for some
applications).
STEP 3
As shown in PIC 1, the dual velocity ring snaps in place in in the center of the
backing plate. The ring should be positioned as shown in PIC 1 with the open hole
positioned in the 10 o'clock position.
STEP 4
Install the air filter to the backing plate. The air filters press on and should hold in
place.
STEP 5 Install the screen mesh inside the Mach 2 cage and hold in place over the air filter
installed in Step 4.
STEP 6
Secure using the chrome 1/4-20 x 3/4" Socket Head Cap Screws. PIC 2 Tighten all
hardware securely.
STEP 7 Check all hose connections and tighten all hardware. Rotate the throttle
open and make sure it returns correctly before starting the motorcycle.
ROTATE THROTTLE AND CHECK THAT IT MOVES FREELY AND
RETURNS TO CLOSED BEFORE STARTING BIKE. FAILURE OF
THE THROTTLE TO RETURN COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF
CONTROL CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners
(including pre-assembled) are tightened before operation of the
motorcycle. Küryakyn will not provide warranty coverage on products
or components lost due to improper installation or lack of
maintenance. Periodic inspection and maintenance are required on all
fasteners.
