General Information:

The Model C1303 Slide Spinner is a personal centrifuge supplied with a rotor and cassettes to hold 2 microarray or standard microscope
slides. The Slide Spinner is designed for drying liquid from glass slides, typically microarray slides. Please read this manual thoroughly
before attempting to operate the centrifuge.

Always run 2 slides at once. Use a blank slide as a balance if only one slide

needs to de dried. To begin a run, simply close the lid of the centrifuge. No other controls are required. To stop rotation, press down on the
lid release tab on the front of the unit or put the switch on the side to the “off” position. Pressing the tab will release the lid lock and the rotor
will slow gradually to a complete stop.

Caution: Do not attempt to open the lid or remove samples until the unit has come to a complete stop. After the rotor has
stopped, the lid may be opened by grabbing it with the thumb on the front and fingers on the back then lifting the lid back
on the hinge.
Safe operation of the centrifuge requires that the rotor be loaded in a balanced fashion. Failure to load the rotor properly
presents a hazardous condition and may damage the centrifuge. Always run two slides for proper rotor balance.
Typically a 10 second spin is required to completely dry the microarray slides. After a 10 second spin, switch the unit off via the power
switch. When the rotor has come to a complete stop, open the lid, and remove the slides. The cassettes can be removed from the rotor
for easy disposal of the liquid that collects at the bottom of the cassettes.

Cleaning:

Before using any cleaning or decontamination methods except those recommended by the Labnet, check with Labnet
that the proposed method will not damage the equipment. To clean the centrifuge, use a damp cloth and a
mild, noncorrosive detergent (ph <8). After cleaning, ensure all parts are dried thoroughly before attempting to operate the
unit. Do not immerse the centrifuge in liquid or pour liquids over it.

The recommended cleaning method for the cassettes is with a mild non-alkaline detergent. For decontamination of internal
part of the cassettes Labnet recommends using Ultrasonic Cleaning Units (it is very effective for destroying DNA - autoclaving doesn’t
effectively destroy DNA).

The cassettes are not resistant to: alkaline detergents, or acids.

Questions and Service:

Should you have a question about the centrifuge or require service for the unit, please use the contact numbers listed
below. Do not send in a unit for service without first calling to obtain a repair authorization number and a decontamination
form. Should the centrifuge require service, be sure to decontaminate it first and enclose the decontamination form with the return.
The unit should be properly packed to avoid damage. Any damage resulting from improper packaging shall be the responsibility
of the user.
