High Pressure Fluid Safety

Escaping fluid under pressure can be nearly invisible and have enough force to penetrate the

skin causing serious injury. Use a piece of cardboard, rather than hands, to search for

suspected leaks. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours

or gangrene may result. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic

lines.

Note:

On most tractors relieving hydraulic pressure can be accomplished by operating valves after the

engine is stopped. Also, the implement should be lowered to ground. Wear protective gloves

and safety glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic systems.

Installation

Refer to Hydraulic Schematic illustrated on the following page. Disconnect the hoses at the two

front cross fittings. Install the #8 Tee Adapters, P/N 2033-8-8S into the wing cylinder hoses.

Assemble the two Hoses, P/N 150273 to the Tee Adapters. Attach the two #8 O-Ring Adapters,

P/N 202702-8-8S and two Male Couplers, P/N 141828 to the Hoses. Connect the transport axle

hoses with the Union Fittings, P/N 148338. The wing circuit and transport circuit are now

independent.

Bleed Air from Hydraulic System

When the machine is assembled, or any time hydraulic circuit is opened, air must be bled from

the system. Otherwise, when wings are folded over center, air will compress, allowing the wings

to free-fall. Bleed the system by removing the rod end pins from the wing fold cylinders,

loosening hose ties as needed, and turning those cylinders so the rod ends are upward. Then,

fully extend and fully retract all cylinders five or six times. Rod ends may then be reconnected to

the lift links.
