Free the internal cables and remover the bulb holder
1. Remove the single screw at the base of the
handle
2. Undo all the screws to access the bottom cover
3. Cut the wires above the plugs that lead to the
top FROM THE BULB SIDE (new plugs and leads
come with the bulb)
4. Wind off the refl ector to expose the bulb
5. Undo the 2.5mm Allen key screw to remove the bulb
holder
6. Remove the bulb holder from the handle
Remove the HID bulb from the Holder
1. Note the positional and orientation of the bulb before removing it from the holder
2. Using a 2.5mm Allen key loosen the two recessed screws that hold the bulb inside the bulb holder.
3. Refi t the new bulb taking care to align the orientation and focal position of the bulb correctly and affi x the two Allen key
screws, Warning, do not over tighten the screws – damage to the ceramic base may result.
4. Retain the protective plastic case the new replacement bulb was packed in.
Reassembly
1. Remove the handle, press in the two tabs to free the handle from the base.
2. Feed to bulb holder wires down the handle so the exit at the base
3. Fit the bulb holder back into the handle and affi x the 2.5mm Allen key screw
4. The HID bulb is delicate and needs to be handled with care. Protect the bulb during reassembly using the case the bulb
was packed in.
5. Locate the cables back through the handle to the base
6. Reattach the base to the handle, press the two tabs together and click into place
7. Fit the connectors onto the cables, they push fi t and are different sizes to make sure polarity cannot be reversed. Refer
Figure 1. Make sure these are connected properly; give them a tug to make sure they will not separate.
8. Plug the connectors together to connect the ballast.
9. Test
10. Disconnect power
11. Reassemble, remove protective cover from bulb and attach refl ector.
12. Focus the refl ector by rotation it and check that a tight spot beam is produced.
