Connecting Cables
The actuator manifold has three possible electrical connections.
• On/off control of the station (actuator) pressure (Model 298.11 only)
• Proportional control of the station (actuator) pressure (Model 298.12 only)
• Dirty filter indication (option for all models)
Note Controllers usually label the connection to the actuator manifold as HSM
(hydraulic service manifold). The actuator manifold functions the same
as a hydraulic service manifold.
On/off (Model 298.11
only)
The on/off solenoid valve connects to the system controller (or a hydraulic
control panel). MTS Systems Corporation controllers label this connection HSM.

Proportional valve
(Model 298.12 only)
The proportional valve connects to the system controller. MTS Systems
Corporation controllers that support proportional valves label this connection
HSM Proportional (or Prop HSM). See the controller product manual for cabling
information. If you are not sure if your controller supports a proportional output,
contact MTS Systems Corporation.
