Typical Technical Specifications:

Introduction

The Overlap deployer Model 214 was developed for
the German Helios A&B satellites. This motorized
mechanism is capable of extending and retracting a 60
foot (18.3 meter) long Tubular Extendible Element (TEE).
The deployer features electrical stops at full-extend and
–retraction. A potentiometer, driven by the moving

element, provides a continuous indication of deployed
length. This deployment mechanism design will meet the
requirements of document MIL-A-083577B (USAF)
General Specification for Moving Mechanical
Assemblies for Space and Launch Vehicles.
