NOTE: If replacing gaskets, remove all traces of old gasket, gasket sealer and Loctite® from the heads, pans, and screws.

1. Check all mating surfaces for flatness or burrs and correct as necessary.

2. Clean mating surfaces and screws with contact cleaner or lacquer thinner.

3. Apply blue Loctite® 243 to cover screws.

4. Lightly coat both sides of the new gasket with high temp black silicone and install on cylinder head.

5. Position the D-ring & cover and start all the cover screws.

6. Working from the center of the cover (spark plug side and pushrod side) and moving outwards, tighten the screws enough so that the gasket

just begins to bulge in that area. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!

7. Once all the screws have been tightened to achieve a slight bulge in the gasket, stop. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!

NOTE: Over time, with heat cycles and vibration, if leak develops, disassemble and repeat steps 1 thru 7 replacing gasket if necessary.
