Large Commercial Signage – 1510/1520 Series
Surface Mounted Installation Instructions
Thank you for selecting Salsbury Industries’ 1510 or 1520 series large commercial surface mounted signage. We are confident that the quality of the
signage will prove to be a good investment. These instructions are intended to assist you in a typical installation.
Installation
The back of the signage has two (2) brackets with hooks at the upper
end to enable hanging the signage on the mating slotted bracket
installed on the wall mounting surface. The wall brackets are
positioned such that the brackets and mounting screws will not be
visible. The installation fasteners are not provided due to the
variation in wall types. Choose fasteners and anchors appropriate
for the type of wall and weight of the signage. Eight (8) of each are
required.
Determine the location for the signage on the wall surface. -The wall
brackets should be installed with the slotted bracket being above the
lower clamping bracket as shown in the illustration.
The vertical distance between the mounting holes for the two (2)
brackets is 1’-2” (14”). Measure this dimension carefully and use a
spirit level for leveling. If the wall brackets are not installed
horizontally and at the correct separation distance, the mating
brackets on the signage may not mate correctly and securely to the
wall brackets.
The horizontal distance between mounting holes should be
transferred to the wall from the two (2) wall brackets. Install the
brackets with the appropriate anchors and screws.
Back the clamping screws out most of the way in the bottom flanges
of the two (2) signage brackets.
Hang the signage on the wall brackets, ensuring that both of the
hooks on the signage brackets are securely engaged in the slots on
the upper wall bracket. To facilitate proper engagement, tilt the
bottom edge of the signage away from the wall while engaging the
upper hooks. Once the upper hooks are engaged, pivot the signage
bottom edge back against the wall.
The ends of the two (2) clamping screws should be below the flange
of the lower wall bracket. Note that this flange angles downward.
Adjust the two (2) clamping screws upward until their ends have
engaged and tightened against the flange of the lower wall bracket.
Ensure that these screws are securely clamped. Installation is now
complete.
Cleaning
Using a soft cloth or sponge, clean the signage with liquid soap,
detergent, or diluted water-soluble household cleaners. Completely
remove residue of any cleaning products with water and dry with a
clean cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the signage
