Spot Water Detection Sensor

The Spot Water Detection Sensor will detect the presence of water at its probes. The Spot Water Detection
Sensor can be used with all models of Sensaphone

®

. The sensor is a normally closed (N.C.) device that is

polarity sensitive.

Wiring Instructions

1. Connect the red wire (positive) from the sensor to an alert input on the Sensaphone.
2. Connect the black wire (negative) to ground or common.
3. Configure your input normality as normally closed.
• For models 400, 800, 1400, 1800, 2800: Press Set, then Configure to set normality.

• For Sensaphone 2000, WEB600, SAT4D, SCADA 3000, CELL682, and Express II: Program the input

type as normally closed.

Consult your specific Sensaphone owner’s manual for further instructions.

4. Test the sensor by touching the probes with a damp paper towel.

Installing Multiple Sensors

Multiple sensors may be installed by wiring them in series, red (positive) to black (negative).
The FGD-0013 is powered by internal lithium batteries. The batteries should last for approximately 3 -5
years. When the batteries start to run down, the sensor will automatically cause an alarm dial out when no
water is present.

Number per input: Multiple, wired in series

Battery Replacement:

1. Remove rubber feet from bottom.
2. Remove screws from under rubber feet only.
3. Open enclosure.
4. Remove old batteries and replace with two CR1225 3V batteries.
