Dual Rear Shock Kit

NOTE: CHECK CAREFULLY BEFORE DRILLING ANY HOLES IN THE FRAME. SOME
MODELS MAY REQUIRE REROUTING OF THE FUEL LINE, VENT HOSES, ETC. SOME
VEHICLES MAY REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF THE MANIFOLD HEAT SHIELDS FOR
CLEARANCE.
Installation:
1. Park the vehicle on flat level ground, set the emergency brake, & block the front tires / wheels.
2. Assemble your new shocks using the bushings & hardware furnished with your shocks. First,
insert the "small" hourglass 5/8" I.D. bushings into the upper shock eye. Next, insert the "large"
hourglass ¾" I.D. bushings into the lower shock eye & insert the 9/16" I.D. shock sleeves into ¾"
lower bushings.
3. Place & center the new lower axle brackets on the "top" of the axle directly above the OEM lower
shock mounts. Tack weld in place.
4. Your shock hardware includes a double-ended upper stud shock mounting pin. Place the large
end of the double-ended stud, 5/8" O.D., on top of the frame rail & weld it to the top of the frame
rail. Therefore, after completion of the installation the shocks will be staggered creating a large
"V" on both sides.
5. Install all of your new shocks. First, install the add-on shocks to the new stud in Step # 4. Install
the other end to the new lower bracket using the supplied 9/16" x 3 ½" bolt & nut. Install other
shocks using your OEM bolts to the OEM upper mount & new lower mounting bracket.
6. Check all components for proper clearance. Retorque all hardware after the first 100 miles &
periodically there after.
