To avoid unecessary service charges, check these suggestions before calling for service.
Element cycles on the highest setting
Element cycles more than usual
A slight odor is noticeable when an element is turned on
Cooktop controls will not turn on
“F” and a number appears in display and control beeps
continuously.
Scraper is not working properly
Cooking results are not what was expected
Replacement magTron dial for cooktop
• This is normal. The temperature limiter operates
automatically to protect the glass ceramic surface
from extreme high temperature damage.
• Pan base is warped, too small for the element or
made of a poor heat conductor. See “Cookware
Selection Guide”, Pg. 29.
• Pan ingredients have boiled dry. Turn element off
or add additonal content to pan.
• This is normal with new cooktops and will
disappear after several uses.
• Range is not receiving proper power. Check the
power source to see if a fuse has blown or if the
circuit breaker tripped. Check cord to see if it is
inserted completely into outlet.
• Cooktop panel is locked. Touch and hold PANEL
LOCK pad until indicator light turns off.
• This is a fault code. If a “F” code flashes, press Off
to clear the display and stop beeping. Reset oven if
necessary. If fault code remains and beep
continues, record fault code number, cancel oven
and call authorized service technician.
• The scraper razor blade is dull. The scraper is
packaged with single-edge, stainless steel blades.
Use a standard single-edge blade for
replacement.
• The cooktop is not level. Adjust leveling legs on
bottom of range.
• Cooking pan is not the appropriate size or type.
