INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2010+ TAURUS 3.5L
ECOBOOST DOWNPIPE

Thanks for purchasing a Stainless Works Downpipe for your 2010+ 3.5L Ecoboost V6.
We have gone to great pains to make sure that our exhaust systems fit and sound great.
Please follow these steps to ensure that your installation goes as planned.

1. Stainless Works recommends the use of Hi-Temp RTV sensor safe silicon gasket

maker as an option to or in conjunction with the use of factory gaskets. The
recommended Oxygen Sensor Safe RTV is either Valco All-in-One Aluminum or
Permatex Copper P/N 101BR available at NAPA, Autozone and other retailers.

2. Disconnect the battery before starting work on the exhaust system for your

vehicle. Reconnect the battery when the job is completed.

3. Your exhaust system can be installed by a weekend warrior but the use of a lift is

recommended for ease of installation. If using a jack, the vehicle must be placed
on a level hard surface and jack stands are required for safety reasons.

4. Disconnect battery.

5. Raise and support the vehicle.

6. Remove lower engine service cover.

7. Remove (4) 10mm nuts at rear factory connection point.

8. On rear converter, remove (2) 10 mm nuts and bolts from 2 bolt flange and

remove flex joint section.

9. On front converter, remove (2) 10 mm nuts from 2 bolt flange and remove flex

joint section.

10. Remove all (4) O2 sensors by unthreading at the downpipe.

11. Remove (3) 10mm nuts from each converter pipe and remove converters.

12. Unbolt (3) 6 mm bolts holding heat shield to steering rack and remove heat shield.

13. Install rear (passenger side) downpipe but do not bolt in place.

14. Re-install heat shield reusing the (3) 6mm bolts.

15. Bolt rear down pipe in reusing (3) 10mm nuts.
