Locking the Freezer

To lock or unlock the freezer, you must hold the key in the lock while turning. The
lock is spring loaded, so the key cannot be left in the lock.

:

If the key is lost, contact your dealer or SUMMIT APPLIANCE for a replacement.
Always give the model and serial number of your appliance when requesting a
replacement key. Keys for most models can be ordered online at
www.summitappliance.com/support .

Energy-Saving Tips

The freezer should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-
producing appliances or heating ducts and out of direct sunlight.

:

Let warm items cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer. Over-
loading the unit forces the compressor to run longer. Items that freeze too
slowly may lose quality or spoil.

Be sure stored items are properly wrapped. Wipe containers dry before
placing them in the freezer. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the unit.

Freezer storage drawers should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper or
paper toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the freezer
less efficient.

Organize and label contents to reduce door openings and extended searches.
Remove as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as
possible.
