REMOVE STOCK STEERING RACK & PINION
1. Center the front wheels & steering wheel, making sure the wheels don’t move
from this position.
2. Turn ignition off (AIR BAGS CAN BE DEPLOYED IF CAR IGNITION IS ON)
3. Take measurements of the stock rack in relation to some reference point on the
chassis. We suggest measuring the distance from each outer tie-rod end grease
fitting to the closest control arm bolt on the frame. This procedure will help you
position the new rack in approximately the same location as the original rack, a
wheel alignment is suggested upon completion.
4. Remove outer tie rod ends from the steering arms.
5. Unbolt steering coupler from the rack & pinion & remove the rack mounting bolts.
6. Unbolt steering shaft from the steering column, and remove.
