Protein-Pak PW Ion-Exchange Columns

1

I. INTRODUCTION

Waters Protein-Pak

PW ion-exchange packings are a fully porous 10 μm

hydrophilic rigid gel providing excellent resolution and recovery of aqueous
biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, enzymes and nucleic acids. Three
stainless steel and two glass columns are available as shown in the fol-
lowing description.

Protein-Pak DEAE-5PW 7.5 mm x 75 mm, Steel (P/N WAT088044)
Protein-Pak DEAE-5PW 8.0 mm x 75 mm, Glass (P/N WAT011783)

This ion-exchange packing is prepared by introducing diethylaminoethyl
groups onto a hydrophilic rigid resin. The large pore size of 1000 Å allows
separation of biomolecules up to a molecular weight of 10

. Columns are

shipped in distilled water.

Protein-Pak SP-5PW 7.5 mm x 75 mm, Steel (P/N WAT088043)
Protein-Pak SP-5PW 8.0 mm x 75 mm, Glass (P/N WAT011784)

The cation-exchange column has a sulfopropyl group introduced onto a
10 micron hydrophilic rigid resin. The large pore size of 1000 Å allows
separation of biomolecules up to a molecular weight of 10

. Columns are

shipped in distilled water.

Protein-Pak SP-5PW 21.5 mm x 150 mm, Steel (P/N WAT010640)

The cation-exchange column has a sulfopropyl group introduced onto
a13 μm hydrophilic rigid resin. The large pore size of 1000 Å allows
separation of biomolecules up to a molecular weight of 10

6

. Columns are

shipped in distilled water.

Note: The loading capacity will be approximately 10 - 20 times greater with
the 21.5 mm x 150 mm compared to the 7.5 mm x 75 mm column.
