INSTALLATION

Assemble the vacuum lifter as directed in the ASSEMBLY section of the lifter's instruction manual.

Also install the Movable Control Pendant as follows:
1) Attach the multi-pin connector on the pendant cord securely to the corresponding electrical

connector on the lifter's power system.

2) Attach the strain relief bracket to the control handle or other appropriate location on the lifter,

as necessary to prevent stress or damage to the pendant cord. Note: It may be necessary to
remove and reattach the control handle, in order to attach the strain relief bracket.

3) When you perform Operational Tests as directed in the ASSEMBLY section of the lifter's

instruction manual, test both sets of vacuum controls, including those on the lifter and the
Movable Control Pendant (see OPERATION).

Note: If you have purchased an extension for the pendant cord, first attach the multi-pin

connector on the pendant cord securely to the corresponding electrical connector on the
extension. Likewise connect the strain relief on the pendant cord to the strain relief on the

extension. Then connect the extension to the lifter as directed in steps 1 and 2.

The Movable Control Pendant allows the operator to engage the lifter's apply and release

functions at a distance equal to the length of the pendant cord, provided there is a clear view of

the lifter and its status indicators from the operator location (see OPERATION section of the
lifter's instruction manual).
Whenever you are lifting a load from a distance, follow these safety rules:
• Visually verify the status of the lifter and load prior to operating the lifter from a distance.
• Do not

operate the lifter from a distance unless there is clear communication about intended

actions (eg, releasing load) with all personnel near the lift.

WARNING: Make sure nearby personnel are aware of intended remote actions.

• Monitor the lifter at all times to make sure that it is functioning as intended.
• Be sure that the load is landed and supported correctly before releasing it (see To Release the

Pads from the Load to follow).
