Powermonitor 1000 Unit Upgrade Kit 3

Publication 1408-IN002A-EN-P - May 2007

Install Upgrade Kit

Follow these steps to install the firmware upgrade.

1. From the CD, move the zip file to a local directory for installation of the

upgrade.

The upgrade CD contains a zip file that is specially created for only one unit
with a specific warranty identification number (WIN). Uploading the wrong
file will not produce an effective catalog number upgrade.

2. Open the zip file.

3. Double-click the setup.exe file from within the archive.

The setup file installs the ControlFlash utility on your computer. Answer the
prompts as appropriate.

4. Click the checkbox to start the ControlFlash utility at the end of the

installation process.

5. When the ControlFlash utility starts, click Next.

6. From the list of available firmware, select the upgrade file that has your WIN

and click Next.

7. Browse to and select the Powermonitor 1000 device in the RSLinx software

RSWho dialog and click OK.

8. Verify the proper file again for the correct WIN and click Next.

9. On the next dialog, click Finish and Confirm.

The catalog update takes less than one minute to complete. When the
download is finished, wait about two more minutes for the device to restart
and confirm the success of the update.

IMPORTANT

The product upgrade firmware is uploaded by using either the Ethernet network
port of the Powermonitor unit, or the RS-485 network port. The kit requires at
minimum RSLinx Classic Lite software to detect the Powermonitor unit and
perform the upgrade operations.
