10) Click on LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3 to select the parallel port connected to the plotter.
11) Turn off the plotter, then hold down the CLEAR BUFFER and STOP buttons together and then
press the ON button. The CLEAR BUFFER and STOP LEDs must be on. This will turn on the
plotter in download mode.
12) Click on the Send update button in the uploadvp program. The file will be sent and the plotter
automatically shuts off once completed.
13) This completes the Firmware Upgrade.
You are now ready to begin the driver upgrade. Please follow these steps:
1) Make sure the plotter is turned off and the parallel port is connected. NOTE: The driver upgrade
can be completed with Windows 7 after the firmware upgrade has been completed.
2) Turn the plotter on again.
3) Now please follow the instructions within the 1492_Pltkit_Series_E_driver\Instructions folder and
install the driver for the 1492-PLTKIT Series E plotter. The new uploaded firmware can work with
PC operating system 2000, XP, Vista, W7 with 32 and 64 bit.
