Installation Instructions
Bulletin 1585BP Outlet

Cut the rip cord as close
to the jacket as possible. View the color code label
on the outlet to determ-
ine the proper location of con-
ductors based on preferred wir-
ing scheme.
Note: Outlets feature
“universal” wiring for
compatibility with both T568A
and T568B wiring schemes.
Place the wiring termina-
tion cap over the jacket
and slide down onto the wiring
block.
Place the panel gasket
against the flange of the
outlet.

Product includes: outlet,
panel nut, termination
cap, and panel gasket.

Using a cable stripper,
remove approximately
38 mm (1.5 in.) of sheathing.

Note: Max. outer cable
diameter 7.11 mm (0.280 in.).
If inner jacket is not present,
proceed to step 5.

Align cable jacket into
the center of the wiring
block so that the cable jacket
will extend within the termina-
tion cap. Lace the four pairs in-
to the wiring block according to
the color code.
Fan out cable to desired
wiring scheme. If
present, cut the pair isolator as
close to jacket as possible.
For fixed installation of
optional dustcap
(1585BP--FCAP) place secur-
ing ring over the outlet and flat
against the faceplate.
Push the outlet through
the faceplate or bulk-
head hole. Be sure the face-
plate keyway is properly
aligned.
Alternate mounting method: When mount-
ing the industrial outlet in a custom applic-
ation, the following mounting requirements
apply.
Thru-hole dia.: 27 mm (1.063 in.)
Panel thickness: 0.89
…3 mm
(0.035 …0.120 in.)
Note: Max. panel thickness is 2 mm
(0.08 in.) when using dustcap ring.
