3

Publication 2361-5.19 - June 1998

Preliminary Steps

Before replacing the snubber assembly, shut off the drive power; wait
five minutes for the voltage to discharge; open the bridge bay door;
and remove all Lexan™ guards shielding the snubber assemblies.

Removing the Snubber Assembly

1.

Using a voltmeter, test the voltage across the three phases, then
across the snubber assembly components.

2.

Unlatch the Glastic™ armature-pulse transformer board panel
and lie the panel down on its back. (Disconnect the gate leads to
the armature pulse transformer boards, if necessary.)

3.

Disconnect the snubber lead from the input busbar.

4.

Disconnect the snubber lead from the output busbar.

5.

Remove the two mounting bolts on the right side of the assembly
and pull the assembly out.

!

ATTENTION: If there is any voltage present, remove
the source of the voltage and check for voltages again
before proceeding to the next step.
