Assembly Instructions
1. Use FK2001278, FK2001279, 263-185-BG-01, and 263-178-BG-01 assembly draw-
ings for assistance.
2. With the power to the machine turned off, dismount the foldhead guards and the
side cross carrier guard.
3. Dismount the cross carrier from the foldhead by dislodging the pins and removing
the socket head bolts mounting the cross carrier to the foldhead.
Note: This will disassemble a spacer block (263-151-01-00) with a spacer cover
(263-152-01-00) located in between the cross carrier frame and the left-hand
foldhead frame. See FK2001279 assembly drawing.
4. Disassemble the cover from the spacer block, and using the M6 x 10 flat head
screw, assemble the new cover (FK0001432) to the new spacer block (FK0001431)
provided in the kit.
5. Pull the cross carrier out approximately 90mm to align three vertical holes in the
cross carrier frames with the three vertical holes in the foldhead frames.
6. With the new spacer block and cover in place, use (2) M8 x 35 socket head bolts,
(2) M8 x 60 socket head bolts, and (2) M8 x 70 dowel pins to reconnect the cross
carrier to the foldhead.
7. Mount the pre-slitter shafts and adjustments according to the assembly drawing
FK2001278.
Note: Check that the tapered plate located on the cross carrier does not rub against
the pre-slitter shaft collars or accessory blades by rotating the pre-slitter shafts by
hand.
8. Mount the pre-slitter accessory mounting tie bar (FK0001357 for Baum 26/
FK0001379 for Baum30), using part #'s FK0001546 (washer) and 262-262-492-07-
00 (screw). This tie bar is for optional accessories.
