8. Plasma Gas Requirements

a. Plasma Gas:

Compressed Air, Oxygen (O2),

Nitrogen (N2), or Argon/Hydrogen(ArH2)

b. Pressure:

75 to 100 psi (5.2 to 6.9 bar)

CAUTION

Maximum input gas pressure must not exceed 125
psi (8.6 bar)

c. Cold Flow

Cutting: 60 to 135 scfh (28.3 to 64.6 lpm)

scfh = standard cubic feet per hour

NOTE

Cold flow is measured before the main arc is acti-
vated. When pressure is set correctly the plasma
gas flow rate is significantly lower when the arc is
initiated.

9. Secondary Gas Requirements

a. Secondary Gas:

Compressed Air, Carbon Di-

oxide (CO

2

) or Nitrogen (N2)

b. Pressure:

15 to 80 psi (1.0 to 5.5 bar)

CAUTION

Maximum input gas pressure must not exceed 125
psi (8.6 bar)

c. Flow

Cutting: 15 to 400 scfh (7.1 to 189 lpm)

scfh = standard cubic feet per hour

10. Secondary Water Requirements

a. Water Source (See Notes)

Clean drinking quality tap water can be used
as a secondary

b. Water Pressure

Min. 50 psi (3.5 bar)

c. Water Flow

Cutting: 3 - 9 gph (13 - 40 lph)

NOTES

Tap water should only be used as a secondary on
machine torches.

The tap water source does not need to be deionized,
but in water systems with extremely high mineral
content a water softener is recommended.

Tap water with high levels of particulate matter
must be filtered.

11. Preflow Gas Requirements

a. Preflow Gas:

Nitrogen is the only recom-

mended preflow gas

b. Pressure:

90 to 115 psi (6.2 to 7.9 bar)

CAUTION

Maximum input gas pressure must not exceed 125
psi (8.6 bar)

c. Flow

Cutting: 42-85 scfh (19.8 to 40.1 lpm)

scfh = standard cubic feet per hour

B. Torch Supply Leads

The following applies to the Torch Supply Leads only:

The Torch Supply Leads are made up of individual hoses
and cables. The Torch Supply Leads are part of the sys-
tem to interface the Master Power Supply to the Arc
Starter Box. The Torch Supply Leads are available to ex-
tend the Arc Starter Box from the Power Supply up to
125 ft (38.1 m).
