RUFFNECK™ ET5-S THERMOSTAT

Installation Instructions

Application: For temperature settings of 40°F to 80°F or

5°C to 25°C, heating applications only.

Electrical Rating:

22 AMP 125-277 VAC

¾ HP @ 125 VAC; 1-1/2 HP @ 250/277 VAC

Location:

Locate the thermostat approximately five (5) feet above the floor in a location that will sense the average

temperature of the area to be controlled. Do not mount the thermostat adjacent to water pipes, in drafty

areas or other locations that would adversely affect the operation of the thermostat.

If the thermostat is mounted on an exterior wall that is not insulated, an insulating pad should be placed

between the thermostat and the exterior wall.

Mounting and Wiring:

All wiring must comply with National Electrical Codes, local codes and ordinances.

1.

Remove the cover of the thermostat and set it aside. Exercise care not to damage the temperature

sensing/operating components.

2.

Connect the conduit into a standard junction box and place the required wire into box.

3.

Mount the thermostat base on the junction box. See Fig. 1 for dimensions.

4.

Connections are to be made to switch terminals on the base, see Fig. 2.
