System Requirements
Operating Systems: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista (Business), Windows 7
(Business)

Hardware: 32 MB of memory, 20 MB of available space on the hard drive, 32
Bit Systems (not compatible with 64 bit Systems), 9-pin com port, a 486 or
greater computer (Pentium Preferred), CD ROM Drive and Parallel Printer
(laser printer preferred).

NOTE: If your computer does not have a 9 pin serial port connection, but
does have USB serial ports, you will need to purchase a USB to serial adapter.
LaMotte recommends the USB to serial adapter which can be purchased at
www.coolgear.com using part number USBG-232 or directly from LaMotte
Company, using part number 5-0101, by contacting our customer service
department at (800) 344-3100. The USB to serial adapter is connected to
one of the computer USB ports and the other end is connected to the 9 pin
cable on the meter.

Attention DataMate Users
DataMate software users should save customer database onto disk to avoid
lost records when new updated software is loaded. LaMotte Company and
their sales agents are not liable for lost records or system failures. It is
important to read instructions carefully. For questions during installation, call
the technical support department at 800-344-3100, ext. 2. For more
instructions, see the electronic manual in the program section of the software
program. After installing the CD, click the Start button on the computer
monitor, then click on All Programs, then DataMate 9.0, then E-manual.
The electronic manual can be printed by the user. Also, there is an extensive
help section throughout the software program.

Software Installation
CD-Rom:
1. Close all other open Windows programs.
2. Insert CD into the CD drive of your computer.
3. Installation should start automatically. If it does not, choose CD drive

from My Computer icon and follow wizard installation instructions on
screen.

4. Choose Setup.exe icon by highlighting it with your mouse and press the

Enter key. Follow the prompts to install the software.

5. Click the Next button to advance from one window to the next. The

second window will let you select the directory where the program will be
installed. If you currently have another version of the software on your
computer, this directory will become the default directory for installation.
If you do not want DataMate 9.0 installed in the directory listed, click the
Browse button to change directories. If you choose a different directory,
the name will appear in the upper box of the Select Destination Directory
window with the original directory name by highlighting it with the
mouse and pressing the Delete key. The install program will automatically
make a backup file in the directory where the program is being installed
and will make a program file called DataMate 9.0 software. You can
change either of these default settings, if you choose.
