４ HEAD GASKET INSTALLATION
Place the gasket on the Cylinder Block by aligning it with the waterlines
and the dows. This will confirm the correct installation.
Verify that there are no signs of unwanted oil, water or grim sticking
to the gasket prior to installation.
５ CYLINDER HEAD INSTALLATION
CAUTION
■ Take care not to damage the cylinder head side, where the Dows are, during installation.
■ Take care not to damage the head gasket.
■ Take care when aligning the cylinder head with the Dows during installation.
(1) Install the Cylinder Head Assembly. Follow the instructions as
noted in the vehicles official workshop service manual for installation.
(2) Measure the length of the Cylinder Head Bolt for signs of stretch.
Change it for new bolts if the values are over the recommended limits.
Install the bolts according to the vehicles manufacture recommendation
as noted in the workshop service manual.
(3) Torque up the head stud bolts in the correct order.
CAUTION
Please use a Torque Wrench & Angle Wrench.
6 ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND ADJUDTMENTS
(1) Assemble the engine.
(2) Set the valve timing.
(3) Bleed the air from the coolant hoses before starting the engine.
(4) Adjust the ignition timing after the engine starts.
Torque Specs: Use the vehicles manufacturers recommended.
Torque & Angle Specs: Use the vehicles manufacturers
recommended specifications, found in the service manual.
