1 Connect the AC plug to a wall

2 Set the POWER switch to ON.
The POWER lamp lights green.
3 Play back a tape on the video
equipment
Refer to the instruction manual of the
video equipment.
4 Adjust the projecting angle.

5 Adjust the picture.

The display indicates (or about 5
seconds on the screen after the button
is pressed.
To enjoy a clearer picture
• Place the unit so as to make the lens
perpendicular to a projected plane,
otherwise the picture becomes distorted
and may be out of focus.
• Use the unit in a dark jdace so that the
picture is projected clearly.
• Do not subject the projected plane to
direct light such as a room light.
• The brightness of picture differs in
accordance with the quality of surface
of a wall or screen and size of the
projected plane. Adjust the brightness
accordingly tvith the PICTURE conIroL
• In adjusting the hei^t, an optional
Sony tripod is recommended.
NotM
• If the picture does not appear for more
than five minutes, the power is turned
off. To turn on the power again, set the
POWER switch to OFF and then ON.
• Be sure to disconnect the AC plug from
a wall outlet when not using this unit.
Enjoying High Quality
Pictur« and Sound
If your video equipment has an S VIDEO
ja^ you can enjoy a high quality picture.
Also you can enjoy high quality sound by
connecting to active speakers.
Connecting to video
equipment with S VIDEO
jack (See illustration B.)
Connect with the A/V connecting cable
(supplied) and S video cable (not
supplied).
The VIDEO (yellow) plug does not need
to be connected. But even if it is
connected, this unit automatically selects
S VIDEO signal.
Note on S video cable
Connect the plug with the 0 mark
upward to the jack.
Connecting to Active
Speakers

Connect the plug of the active speakers
(not sujsplied) to the PHONES (head­
phones) jack of the unit.
The optional Sony active speakers SRS-
A30/SRS-88 are recommeiWed.
Connecting to a HiFi
stereo System

Connect the audio plugs of video
equipment to a HiFi stereo system. You
can listen to sound from a HiFi stereo
system. For details, refer to the Hiß
stereo system instruction manual
Replacing the Bulb
(Sea illustration

When the bulb in the unit wears out,
replace with a new one.
As the bulb is too hot to (ouch
immediately after use. wait for 30 minutes
before replacing.
1 Disconnect the AC plug.
Leave the unit for 30 minutes.
2 Loosen the screw on the bulb-
cover and pull out the cover.
Loosen the screw with a coin, etc.
3 Make sure that the bulb is cool.
Then pull It out and lepiace
with a new one.
When teplacing the bulb, pull it out
holding a handkerchief.
4 Put back the bulb-cover and
screw down.
Halogen bulb IHe
The supplied bulb. Halogen bulb XB-
CPJlOO lasts lor approximately 400 hours
in continuous use.
The time differs in accordance with
conditions of use.
Replacement bulb
When the supplied bulb wears ouL use
bulb XB-CPjioO manufactured by Sony.
If any other type of bulb is used, the
jxiwer of the unit may not activate or it
may cause a malfunction.
Note on the bulb
• Do not touch the bulb immediately after
use as it is very hot.
« Do not touch the surface of the bulb and
the inside of the reflector, if they
become dirty, the efficiency of the bulb
may decrease.
• Do not drop or knock the bulb.
• After replacing the bulb, be sure to close
the bulb-cover.

Raccordez l'appareil à un magnétoscope,
camescope ou autre appareil vidéo avec le
cible de raccordement A/V fourni.
Lors du raccordemenL mettez hors
tension le projecteur et l'apjMreil vidéo

1 Branchez la fiche secteur sur
une prise murale.
2 Réglez l’interrupteur POWER sur
ON.
Le voyant POWER s'allume en vert
3 Reproduisez une cassette sur
l'appareil vidéo.
Consultez le mode d'emploi de
l'appareil vidéo.
4 Réglez l'angle de projection.
• Poussez le sélecteur
PROJECTION ANGLE vers le haut.
• Réglez l'angle de l'objectif.
• Réglez le sélecteur PROJECTION
ANGLE sur LOCK.
5 Réglez l'image.

Réglez la luminosité avec la commande
PICTURE. [b|

6 Réglez le volume en appuyant
sur la touche.

Après que vous avez appuyé sur la
louche, l'affichage apparaît pendant
environ 5 secondes sur l'écran.
Pour obtenir une meilleure
image
• Installez l'appareil de sorte que l'objectif
soit perpendiculaire au plan projeté,
sinon l'image risque d'étre défonnée et
floue.
• Utilisez l'appareil dans une pièce
sombre pour que les images
apparaissent plus nettement.
• Veillez à ce que le plan projeté ne soit
pas exposé à un édairage direct, comme
une lampe.
• La luminosité de l'image varie selon la
qualité du mur ou de l'écran et la
dimension du plan projeté. Réglez la
luminosité en conséquence avec la
commande PKTTURE.
• Pour régler la hauteur, nous vous
conseillons d'utiliser un pied optionnel
Sony.
Remarques
• Si aucune image n'apparalt pendant
plus de cinq minutes, l'appareil est hors
tension. Four le remettre sous tension,
réglez l'interrupteur POWER sur OFF,
puis sur ON.
• N'oubliez pas de débrancher ta fiche
secteur de la prise murale cpiand vous
n'utilisez pas Tajipareil.
Image et son de haute
quaUté
Si l'appareil vidéo a une prise S VIDEO,
vous pouvez obtenir une image de haute
qualité. Vous pouvez également obtenir
un son de haute qualité en raccordant des
enceintes amplifiées.

Utilisez le ctbie de raccordement A/V
(fourni) et un câble vidéo S (non fourni).
Il n'est pas nécessaire de raccorder ta fiche
VIDEO (jaune). Cependant,mémesilâ
fiche vidéo est raccordée, l'appareil
sélectionne automatiquement le signal S
VIDEO.
