TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

PROBLEM

■ngine clicks but will

CAUSE

Loose or damaged
wiring.
Faulty solenoid or

starter.

CORRECTION

Check all wiring.

Check/reptace solenoid or

starter.

_oss of power

Cutting too much

grass/too fast.

• Throttle in “CHOKE”

position.

Build-up of grass,
leaves and trash

under mower. ■

Dirty air filter.

Low oil level/dirty oil.
Faulty spark plug.

Dirty fuel filter.
Stale or dirty fuel.

Water in fuel.

Spark plug wire loose.

Dirty engine air screen/

fins.
Dirty/clogged muffler.

• Loose or damaged

wiring.

Carburetor out of

adjustment.

Engine valves out of

adjustment.

Set in “Higher Cuf position/

reduce speed.

Adjust throttle control.

Clean underside of mower
housing.

Clean/replace air filter.

Check oil level/change oil.
Clean and regap or change

spark plug.

Replace fuel filter.
Drain fuel tank and refill

with fresh gasoline.

Drain fuel tank and carbure

tor, refill tank with fresh

gasoline and replace fuel

fitter.

Connect and tighten spark

plug wire.
Clean engine air screen/fins.

Clean/replace muffler.

Check all wiring.
