Track (out of adlustment)

If the distance is greater, you need to

adjust the track as follows;

* Loosen or tighten the adjusting bolt at the

rear of the track support frame (see figure

above) to obtain the proper distance
between the track and the track support
frame.

• Adjust the track on the opposite side In

the same manner.

TO ADJUST CARBURETOR

if you think your carburetor needs adjusting,

see your nearest Authorized Craftsman
Service Center. Engine performance
should not be affected at altitudes up to
7,000 feet. For operation at higher eleva­
tions, contact your Authorized Craftsman
Service Center.

IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the en­

gine governor, which is factory set for

proper engine speed. Overspeeding the
engine above the factory high speed setting

can be dangerous. If you think the engine-
governed high speed needs adjusting, con­
tact your nearest Craftsman Service Center,
which has the proper equipment and experi­

ence to make any necessary adjustments.

TO ADJUST OR REPLACE THE

SPARK PLUG

NOTICE: This spark ignition system meets
ali requirements of the Canadian Interfer­
ence-Causing Equipment Regulations.

NOTICE: This engine complies with ail cur­
rent Australian and New Zealand limitations
regarding electromagnetic interference.
If you have difficulty starting your snow

thrower, you may need to adjust or replace
the spark plug. Follow the instructions be­

low.

Replace the spark plug if the electrodes are

pitted or burned or if the porcelain is
cracked.
TO ADJUST:

• Clean the spark plug by carefully scraping

the electrodes (do not sand blast or use a
wire brush),

• Be sure the spark plug is clean and free

of foreign material. Check the electrodes
gap (see figure below) with a wire feeler
gauge and reset the gap to .030 inch if
necessary.

TO REPLACE:

• If you need a new spark plug, use only

the proper replacement spark plug (See
page 14).

• Set the gap to .030.
• Before installing the spark plug, coat its

threads lightly with oil or grease to insure

easy removal.

• Tighten the plug firmly Into the engine.

• If a torque wrench is available, torque the

plug to 18 to 23 ft. - lbs.
