&

p/n:

5037793AC (6.1L & 6.4L V8) trans-
mission oil filler tubes. Please verify
your vehicle transmission oil filler
tube part number with a Chrys-
ler/Dodge dealer if in question. The
B&M NAG-1 Locking Dipstick sits
in place of your stock cap plug and
allows you to check for fluid level
without a scan tool.

INTRODUCTION

Automatic transmission fluid ex-
pands as its temperature rises and
fluid level differs greatly to fluid tem-
perature. Therefore, there are two
different scales for checking the lev-
el of hot fluid and cold fluid on the
dipstick. Though the fluid level can
be checked without warming up the
fluid on the

“25°C” range, we highly

recommend checking the fluid level
when the fluid is at operating tem-

perature. To obtain an accurate
fluid check, drive the vehicle until it
is warmed up (approximately 20
miles). If your vehicle has been
operated for an extended period at
high speeds, in city traffic during
hot weather or pulling a trailer, the
vehicle should be turned off for
about 30 minutes to allow fluid to
cool before checking.

WARNING: There is a risk of acci-
dent from vehicle starting off by
itself when engine running. There
is a risk of injury from contusions
and burns if you insert your hands
into the engine when it is started or
when it is running. Secure vehicle
to prevent it from moving off by
itself. Wear properly fastened and
close-fitting work clothes. Do not
touch hot or rotating parts.

NOTE: Before inserting the B&M
NAG-1 Locking Dipstick in, be
sure to fully clean off any rust
preventative oil residue with a
clean, dry lint free rag. When
checking the fluid from a factory
filled transmission, it is common

to have a higher fluid reading as
the factory tends for overfilled it
just slightly.

INSTALLATION

STEP 1.
With the vehicle turned
OFF, locate the transmission oil filler
tube with cap labeled

“DEALER

ONLY

”.

STEP 2. Twist the transmission oil
filler tube cap 90° counterclockwise
and then pull to remove.

1 Locking Dipstick

down with a dry lint free rag, prior to
inserting the dip stick into the trans-
mission oil filler tube.
STEP 4. Insert the B&M NAG-1
Locking Dipstick
fully into the
transmission oil filler tube until it fully

the transmission oil filer tube and
