Introduction

The Rocker Max Pak™

440-L6 Switchbox is a 6 switch control center, with the addition of 3 level lighting control.

Each indvidual output is rated for 15A maximum and is protected with a 20A ATO fuse. L1 thru L3 is protected by
a 40A circuit breaker. (Each group is rated for 40A maximum.)
Total box switching capacity is 60 AMPS. Be careful not to exceed any of these maximum ratings.

Wiring Procedure

NOTE: Make sure the fuses are removed and the positive battery terminal has been disconnected before

installing or servicing this unit.

1)

The installer needs to determine the current load in amps, of each of the devices to be switched by the
Rocker Max Pak™.

2)

Connect the device(s) to the desired switch(s), noting the current limitations of each switch and group
of switches. (See FIG. 1)

3)

The 8ga. red wire should be run from the switchbox to the (+) side of the battery, the alternator, or the
stud on the battery side of the solenoid.

4)

The red wire "B" powers the backlighting. Connect it to a +12 volt ignition switched circuit or the parking
lights circuit, as desired. Backlighting is provided by an array of solid state LED's. A user supplied 1 amp
fuse is highly recommended for this input.

5)

Connect the black "G" wire to the vehicle chassis ground.

6)

Turn all switches OFF, install all fuses and attach the battery positive terminal. Check all power fuses
to assure against short circuits. If any have opened, check associated wiring for cuts, defects or improper
connections.

7)

One at a time, turn each device on. Again check for proper operation.

8)

If a fuse needs replacement, 20 amp ATO style fuses must be used.

NOTE:

Larger wires and tight connections will provide longer service life for components. For high current wires it is highly recommended

that terminal blocks or soldered connections be used with shrink tubing to protect the connections. Do not use insulation displacement
connectors (e.g. 3M

®

Scotchlock type connectors). Route wiring using grommets and sealant when passing through compartment walls.

Minimize the number of splices to reduce voltage drop. High ambient temperatures (e.g. underhood) will significantly reduce the current carrying
capacity of wires, fuses, and circuit breakers. Use "SXL" type wire in engine compartment. All wiring should conform to the minimum wire size
and other recommendations of the manufacturer and be protected from moving parts and hot surfaces. Looms, grommets, cable ties, and similar
installation hardware should be used to anchor and protect all wiring. Fuses or circuit breakers should be located as close to the power takeoff
points as possible and properly sized to protect the wiring and devices. Particular attention should be paid to the location and method of making
electrical connections and splices to protect these points from corrosion and loss of conductivity. Ground terminations should only be made to
substantial chassis components, preferably directly to the vehicle battery. The user should install a fuse sized to approximately 125% of the
maximum Amp capacity in the supply line to protect against short circuits. For example, a 30 Amp fuse should carry a maximum of 24 Amps. DO
NOT USE 1/4" DIAMETER GLASS FUSES AS THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR CONTINUOUS DUTY IN SIZES ABOVE 15 AMPS. Circuit
breakers are very sensitive to high temperatures and will "false trip" when mounted in hot environments or operated close to their capacity.
