MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before you clean the appliance it must be switched off and the mains plug must be
removed from the wall socket. It is essential not to immerse the handle and motor in
water and to keep it away from running water.

1. Clean the outside cover of the appliance with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth and then wipe the cleaned surfaces

with a dry lint-free cloth. Take care not to allow any moisture inside the cover. Let the appliance dry
completely before re-using or storing it.

2. Never use solvents (acetone, benzene, petrol etc.) to clean the appliance because these materials could

dissolve the plastic cover and damage the internal components. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

3. Never remove the casing or dismantle the appliance.

4. Wash the measuring beaker supplied with the appliance in a soft, neutral detergent solution, then rinse it in

running water.
Let it dry completely before storing the appliance.

5. If the appliance is not to be used for an extended time, after cleaning store it inside a nylon bag in a dust,

humidity and frost free location. Do not wind the power cord around the appliance, as this can break or
weaken its insulation.

Attention!

This appliance was designed for intermittent operation. At least 10 minutes’ pause is essential
after a maximum of 1 minute’s operation. If the blended material is denser than average, reduce
the operating time to below 1 minute accordingly. Always unplug the appliance during pauses.
Disregarding instructions concerning pauses can result in damage to the appliance and will be
considered improper use.

3. When blending is completed turn the hand blender off by releasing the operating button, wait until the blade

stops and only then lift the appliance from the bowl.

4. When blending is finished, the appliance should be cleaned without delay. Immerse the blending attachment

into a bowl ready prepared with a soft, neutral detergent solution and run the blender for a few minutes.
Next, immerse the attachment into a bowl of clean water to rinse away any detergent residues.

5. After use disconnect the appliance from the mains. Cleaning the appliance as soon after use as possible is

recommended.

Practical advice for using the appliance

For optimal results move the blending attachment around in the ingredients.

Before making fruit puree, clean, remove seeds from and dice the fruit; then add a little milk or other liquid to
the mix before blending.

Do not attempt to blend ice, seeds or other solid matter with the blender.

When preparing mayonnaise pour all ingredients into the beaker, then lower the blender attachment to the
bottom of the beaker and move it regularly up and down.

Ensure that the food to be blended always covers the blade guard head of the attachment.
